Tom Hamilton has announced his first show with his new band, Close Enemies. Joining the former Aerosmith bassist in its line-up are singer Chasen Hampton, guitarists Peter Stroud and Trace Foster and drummer Tony Brock. The latter was a founding member of English rockers The Babys, and has also played with Rod Stewart, Jimmy Barnes and Elton John.
Heart singer Ann Wilson has completed the course of preventive chemotherapy that forced the band to cancel a European tour in the summer. “I’m excited to share with you that I’m now finished with chemo and I’m officially ready to get ready for the tour in 2025,” Wilson said in a statement. “This poison is more than welcome to get the fuck out of my body now.”
The Alarm frontman Mike Peters is in complete remission from his latest battle with cancer thanks to a trial drug. “It is momentous news, especially when considering that I was only diagnosed with the aggressive Richter’s Syndrome last April and told that without treatment, I could expect to live for just two to twelve months,” he says.
Thom Yorke has adapted Radiohead’s 2003 album Hail To The Thief into a modern version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Hamlet Hail To The Thief runs from April 27-May 18 at Manchester’s Aviva Studios and June 4-28 at the RSC Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon.
