“Let Her In” has been released in 1976 by John Travolta.
On April 10th 1976, John Travolta performed “Let Her In” on the ABC-TV program ‘American Bandstand’.
Two weeks later on April 25th it entered Billboard’s Hot Top 100 chart at position #98; and on July 18th it peaked at #10 (for 1 week) and spent 20 weeks on the Top 100.
John Travolta was already a pretty big deal in 1976. The 22-year-old was starring in the TV show Welcome Back, Kotter, and had appeared in a few movies, including Carrie. This song was the beginning of his music career, which culminated in his performance on the Grease soundtrack, where he sang with Olivia Newton-John. The song is about giving love a try after previously having given up on it.
This was written by a British songwriter named Gary Benson. He had a #20 UK hit as an artist in 1975 with “Don’t Throw It All Away” and co-wrote the Maxi Priest song “Close To You.”
