Ratt – Wanted Man

“Wanted Man” is the first track on American heavy metal band Ratt’s album Out of the Cellar. It was also featured on the soundtrack for the 1985 film Weird Science. The song was composed by Robbin Crosby, Stephen Pearcy, and Joey Cristofanilli (who was briefly filling in for full-time Ratt bassist Juan Croucier), and it was the second biggest hit on the album (note: “Back for More” did not qualify for a chart position since it was not an actual single release), reaching number 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 38 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

“Wanted Man,” released on Ratt’s debut album, Out Of The Cellar, was the follow-up to their hit “Round And Round.” By the end of 1984, the album had sold over 2 million copies, eventually selling 3 million. Hair metal was starting to get big, with Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard on the front lines. Ratt didn’t much play on pop radio, but they were big on MTV and became a very popular live act.

In the music video, Ratt does some time traveling when their tour bus ends up in the Old West. Of course, they head straight for the saloon. It was directed by Mark Rezyka, who also worked on Ratt’s video for “Back For More” and Quiet Riot’s “Metal Health.”

Ratt was managed by Marshall Berle, who uncle Milton Berle was a very popular entertainer, crossing over from radio to TV in the 1950s. Marshall made sure Ratt kept their videos fun and entertaining, which meant costumes and early call times, but the band loved the results. Thanks to Marshall, Milton Berle appeared in two Ratt videos: “Back For More” and “Round And Round.”

Ratt este un grup de heavy metal, care a si-a inceput activittea intial in Los Angeles in 1973.

Stephen Pearcy este fondatorul grupului, care se numea intial Firedome. In 1974, grupul s-a destramat iar Pearcy a fondat un alt grup, Crystal Pystal, nume care a fost dupa aceea schimbat in Buster Cherry, iar mai tirziu a fost schimbat din nou in 1976, devenind Mickey Ratt.

Grupul a trecut prin mai multe schimbari de componenata, iar in 1981, au scurtat numele la Ratt.
In 1991 – 1992, grupul practic se dezintegreaza. Intre 1996 si 2000 au incercat re-unirea. Au scos si un album, cu fete B de la fostele single-uri. Dupa care iarasi au luat-o pe drumuri diferite.

A doua reuniune a avut loc intre 2012 si 2015, si iarasi despartirea, cand Stephen Pearcy a parasit grupul.

In 2018 un nou Ratt s-a format, din nou cu Pearcy si Juan Croucier (a inceput cu Ratt in 1982). In grupul de acum, alaturi de ei, se mai afla bateristul Pete Holmes, si chitaristii Jordan Ziff, and Chris Sanders.
