Alecia Beth Moore (born September 8, 1979), known professionally as Pink.

Pink began performing in Philadelphia clubs when she was about 14 years old. She adopted her stage name, “Pink”, around this time. She had that nickname for quite some time by that point, and initially it had been “a mean thing”.

Pink has named Madonna and Janis Joplin as her biggest musical influences.

In the music video, directed by Georgia Hudson (Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do”), Pink joins a diverse cast of disillusioned young people expressing their anguish through choreographed dance routines in the streets of a desolate city. Hudson said the numbers, choreographed by the GoldenBoyz, allowed the dancers to express their real-life frustrations with the political climate.

According to Hudson, the scene in the video when Pink and her dancers perform a routine in the desert was based on a dream the singer had.
