Edgar Broughton Band – Hotel Room

“Hotel Room” – single by Edgar Broughton Band, was written by Edgar Broughton and was first released on June 25, 1971. Originally recorded during the session for the self-titled third album, known amongst fans as “The Meat Album”, as the album cover features meat on hangers in a warehouse; a human can also be seen hanging amongst the meat. The title has not been included on the 1971 album.

The 2004 CD reissue features three bonus tracks: Hotel Room, Call Me a Liar and Bring It on Home.

Tony Blackburn (Radio 1 DJ) played everyday for a week the single “Hotel Room” on his show, which created more buzz for the Edgar Broughton Band. They have included this title on their live shows, in that year.

Au fost la inceput un grup de blues, The Edgar Broughton Blues Band, cantand in zona unde traiau ei, Warwick. Dar, de la blues au trecut mai mult spre curentul, la moda atunci, psychedelic, renuntand la “Blues” din numele grupului.

In 1968, s-au mutat in Londra in cautarea unui contract pentru inregistrari si au semnat cu Blackhill Enterprises, cu care au realizat primul single “Evil”/”Death of an Electric Citizen”, lansat in Iunie 1969. A urmat primul album, Wasa Wasa, care a avut inca o puternica influenta de blues, destul de similar cu of Captain Beefheart and Howlin’ Wolf.
Au avut 8 albume de studio, ultimul in 1982.
