Written by Keith and Scotty Emerick, “I Love This Bar” describes the patrons of a local bar, who include “winners, losers, chain smokers and boozers.” It was accompanied by a music video shot at a bar in Chatsworth, Calif., called the Cowboy Palace Saloon. Video was directed by Michael Salomon, and premiered on CMT on August 21, 2003.

“I Love This Bar” debuted at number 30 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks for the week of August 30, 2003. The song has sold 1,033,000 copies in the U.S. as of April 2014.

“I Love This Bar,” which was the debut single from Keith’s Shock’n Y’all album, stayed at the top of the charts for a total of five weeks. But more importantly, it spawned an entirely new business for the singer, who launched his own restaurant chain, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill; Keith opened the first one in his home state of Oklahoma in 2005.

Toby Keith a acordat o licență pentru numele lui și al melodiei: Toby Keith, I Love This Bar, unei  firme din Arizona, Boomtown Entertainment, care a deschis 20 de restaurante în mai multe state din America. Dar din cauza unui management destul de slab, au trebuit să închidă aproape toate restaurantele, rămânând doar 3 deschise în Oklahoma și unul în Las Vegas. Toby nu a fost deloc implicat în afacere, doar a acordat o licență pentru nume.
