Artimus Pyle (born Thomas Delmer Pyle), drummer with Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1974 to 1977 and from 1987 to 1991. Lynyrd Skynyrd are best know for their 1974 US No. 8 single, ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ and the 1982 single ‘Freebird’.

Peter Banks, guitarist, Yes, (1968-70), and Flash. After playing with bassist Chris Squire in the Syn, Banks and Squire helped form Yes in 1968. Banks died aged 65 on 7th March 2013.

American singer, songwriter, harmonica player, and guitarist Roky Erickson who was a founding member of the 13th Floor Elevators and a pioneer of the psychedelic rock genre. Erickson died on 31 May 2019 age 71.

She has earned 11 Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award, and an ALMA Award.

H. B. Barnum is born in Houston, Texas. A child star, he makes his foray into music as “Pee Wee Barnum” and later becomes a sought-after arranger for the likes of Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, and The Supremes.

Country singer Tommy Dee is born in Vicker, Virginia. In 1959, he writes the hit “Three Stars” in honor of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, who tragically died in a plane crash earlier that year. He died January 26, 2007 in Nashville, TN.
